Communion Statement of St. John Lutheran Church

The Lord's Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence of the saving faith which our Lord Jeus Christ gives.  We believe...

That we are sinful by nature and deserve God's judgement.

That God has called us to faith in Jesus Christ who has offered himself for us to satisfy the justice of God.

That God helps us through His Holy Spirit to confess through the Bible, Holy Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

That the Lord's Supper is God's gift as Christ's body and blood in, with and under the bread and the wine.

That in this Sacrament we receive forgiveness of sins and increased faith.

Because those who eat and drink our Lord's body and blood in an unworthy manner do so to their great harm and because the Lord's Supper is a confession of faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or hold a confession differing from that of this congregation and the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the Sacrament are asked first to speak with the Pastor or an Elder.
