Technology
In August 2009, a volunteer technology committee was organized for St. John Lutheran School. Funds from the Christian Parent League and donations have made it possible for the committee to work toward technology goals for the school.
St. John Technology Committee Charter
Technology is a vital part of our students’ daily lines and future workplace environments. Technology can also play a key role in enhancing the education process and learning about God’s word and grace. Our mission is to obtain the technology equipment and training to meet the goals of St. John Lutheran Church and School.
Overall Technology Goals
- Reliability and uniformity of equipment
- Teacher training
- Integration of technology in the classroom
- Technology literacy for students, including concepts, ethics and skills
In 21st Century learning,
- Technology is at the center of students' learning and their interactions with information.
- We can not miss the opportunity to merge technology enhanced education with Christian training.
The safety of children is very important in this digital world. St. John has provided an internet filtering device to stop access to inappropriate websites as much as possible. However, children need to learn skills to help themselves with safety and security. Before students are able to use technology tools in the school, they need to read and discuss the St. John Lutheran School Technology Acceptable Use Policy found in the school handbook and returned a signed agreement form.
