 Music in Our School
St. John Lutheran
School
recognizes the importance of making music a part of the education of children.
Music has been documented to contribute to children’s success in society,
success in school, success in developing intelligence and success in life. The
discipline of music develops strong communication and cognitive skills,
actively contributes to brain development and shapes children’s abilities and
character. It contributes to the psychological and spiritual growth of children
and benefits them physically.
All children at St. John Lutheran
School take part in music
education in the music classroom and through performance in choir. Additional
opportunities for music education are also available through band, guitar class
and piano lessons.
Choir Every child participates in a choir as part of the
school music curriculum. Students in kindergarten through fourth grade students sing in the Junior Choir.
Crusader Choir includes students in grades five through eight. All
students from kindergarten to eighth grade take part in Mass Choir.
Each choir works on age
appropriate music, providing a progression of increasing musical skills.

Lutheran Schools Sunday, and worship services.
Music is an important
part of each person’s spiritual development. Mass Choir is a part of several Sunday

glory.
