St John Lutheran Church and School      Where Faith and Education Meet 

1. If you hear Elk River School District #728 is on a “late start” or “closing” that decision will also apply to St. John Lutheran School (Preschool through 8^th Grade).
2. If there is a “2 hour late start” all morning preschool sessions will be cancelled.
3. The Before/After School Care program will follow a normal schedule for 1 or 2 hour “late starts.” If school closes early, we ask parents to pick up their children as soon as arrangements can be made.
4. Preschool Only: A decision to cancel afternoon preschool sessions will be made by 11:00am. This decision will not be aired on radio, TV or Internet. Parents will be notified by phone and also email.
5. On most inclement weather mornings “late start” or “school closing” announcements will be aired by 6:30am WCCO TV Channel 4 and WCCO 830AM radio are the primary sources for communicating this information. On the Internet, http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/school-closings/ provides immediate access to the list of closings and delays online (Note: You may or may not find St John on the list, so look for District #728 Elk River).
6. If school is cancelled or closes early, all evening school activities, including sports, kids at play, confirmation, or children’s choir are cancelled.
