OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE

Bethesda Thrift Shop  

St. John is committed to provide five volunteers the first Thursday of every month to work at Bethesda Thrift shop.  Could you spare one day per month to help sort, price, and restock shelves?  Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. serve clients with developmental disabliities.  For more information please call Lynn Schaap at 441-4157.

Memorial List

St. John has a list of items that will assist in the mission and ministry of our Lord here if you have a desire to give a special gift or memorial.  One item that has just been added to the list is a gift that will upgrade the organ even further with one or two more ranks of pipes.  These pipes will be set in front of the chamber to help the organ spaek more clearly and truly distinguish the keyboards from each other. 

CAER

C.A.E.R – Community Aid Elk River - This group supports a local food shelf and gives short term aid to those in need. Donations for the food shelf can be dropped off at church in the grocery cart. If you wish to help stock shelves or help bag groceries please contact Don & Betty Lemmon 441-2459

ABBA

Abba Pregnancy Resource Center, 953 4th Street, Elk River, is a non-profit volunteer organization assisting women and men involved in a crisis pregnancy.   They average 300 client visits per year.  About 100 of these are for pregnancy tests.  All services at the center are free and confidential.  Besides cash donations, there is always a need for diapers, especially larger ones.  Maternity clothing new or gently used and infant clothing and baby items in new or gently used condition.

Items can be placed on the bottom of the (CAER) grocery cart in the narthex and mark for "ABBA".

The Board of Trustees now meets on the 1st Sunday of each month between 1st and 2nd service.
