VISION STATEMENT

The youth of today are also the church of today, not just the church of the future.  Therefore, the youth ministry of St. John Lutheran Church, Kaleidoscope, is one that builds relationships with other believers within the body of Christ as well as with our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Furthermore, Kaleidoscope is not a replacement to the Christian family and home, but it serves as a sanctuary and a beacon in the world.  As a sanctuary, Kaleidoscope offers a safe place to express opinions, offer ideas, discover and utilize God given gifts and talents, explore tough questions, praise God, and find trust and Christian love.  As a beacon, Kaleidoscope reaches out to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with those who do not yet know Christ through their daily walk and service.  Finally, through Kaleidoscope’s role as a sanctuary and a beacon, youth will grow to Christian maturity as disciples of Jesus Christ accepting their difference in the world around them with hope, challenge, perseverance, identity, and commitment.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Kaleidoscope is to build up the body of Christ through the study of God’s Word, community service, sharing the Gospel, praise and worship, and Christian fellowship.

Kaleidoscope is the Senior High Youth Ministry (grades 9-12) of St. John Lutheran Church - Elk River, MN
