Family Involvement During the Week

Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to discuss with their children what they learned during their Sunday school lesson. Many times worksheets, crafts, and other lesson focused materials will come home with your child. Please utilize these tools to revisit the Bible story and theme during the following week and strive to draw connections between the lesson and daily life events and experiences.

First Bible Faith Stepping Stones

Children in grade 3 will be presented with a gift Bible.  Children and their parents are encouraged to attend three weeknight sessions that outline the Bible prior to the presentation in church.  A letter of invitation and additional information will be sent to all 3rd grade students each year. The dates of the sessions will be posted on the church calendar.

Curriculum

For the third year in a row, our Board of Parish Education has opted to utilize the FaithWeaver Sunday school curriculum.  Every activity in the FaithWeaver Bible curriculum is meant to encourage faith growth. Infants through participating adults cover the same Bible story, learning about it and applying it at appropriate levels for all ages. Children and adults alike experience the Bible stories and apply the principles in ways that they won't soon forget.

Singing in Church

The younger Sunday School children, age 2 through grade 2, will have the opportunity during the year to sing as part of the regular Sunday morning worship.  This is a very meaningful experience not only for the children, but for the entire congregation as well.  The Department Coordinators will organize the singing.  The children will sing once in November and once in the Spring.

Sunday School Offerings

We will support CAER and Seeds of Hope this year.  Seeds of Hope is a Christian charitable organization which provides seeds and agricultural support to mission teams.  To learn more visit their website at http://www.hopeseeds.org/.   We will also be supporting missionaries to Central Asia.
